Homeschooling

What is homeschooling?

Queensland department of Education through the Home Education Unit (HEU) allows parents/guardians to oversee their child’s education. Students need to be registered with the HEU and can do this via their online form on their website. The form includes a summary of the educational program that the parent/guardian intends to implement for the student. (Templates are available on the website for assistance in completing this) Students can be registered for homeschooling until the end of the year in which they turn 18 years of age.

Unilearn Students who are homeschooled

We have many students who study our subjects as part of their educational program. Choosing our subjects provides a strong curriculum with learning opportunities that encourage students to develop an academic mindsight with a view to further study at university. Our subjects are recognised by many universities as providing the prerequisite knowledge for entry into most bachelor’s degrees.

Our subjects

We have two subjects that have been recognised on educational programs for students at the equivalent of grade 9 or 10 – UNL10 Building Literacy Skills and UNL30 Building Numeracy Skills and Knowledge. We have 8 subjects that have been recognised by the HEU for students at the equivalent of year 11 and 12. By studying these subjects, students are ensured of a strong academic foundation for entry to university.
